Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Eucharistic Ministers) are lay people in the church who assist the priests and deacons in distributing Communion. Many also volunteer to bring Communion to and visit with the homebound of our parish who are unable to come to Mass.
Being an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is a highly privileged role and responsibility to literally share Christ with ones' fellow parishioners. Training is provided, and Eucharistic Ministers are asked to show up 10 minutes early to Mass to check in and be seated.
