According to St. Augustine, those who sing pray twice. Do you have a musical gift that would enable you to double your prayer life, while enhancing worship for your fellow parishioners? Then the St. Columba Music Ministry is the place for you to use your God-given gift.
We have two choirs at St. Columba, as well as cantors at each Mass. Our Adult Choir sings at the 10:30 am Mass each Sunday (rehearsals on Thursdays from 7:00-9:00 pm). Our Children's Choir sings at the 9:00 am Mass twice a month (rehearsals on Thursdays from 4:00-5:00 pm). We also have musicians who play instruments from time to time, including a flutist at the Saturday 5:30 pm Mass.
Whether you can carry a tune, have been professionally trained as a singer, or fall somewhere in between, please consider joining the music ministry. Singing with the choir is fun! We build camaraderie, pray together, learn vocal and Choral skills, and have the honor of leading sung worship for the Liturgy!
The added blessing of being part of this music ministry is that you would also be joining a small faith community who comes together weekly to practice and to sing at Mass.
