St. Columba isn't just a place - it's a family. We have a lot of offerings and groups, beautiful places to pray, excellent education programs, incredible service to the community...but the thing we're most proud of is our people.
We also want you to hear about this place from them, because of course we're going to say it's great. But they are what make it so great, so here's what a few of them had to say:
"When my boys were little, they reminded us to go to St. Columba because that's where you meet great people (Pic1). They told us to go to St. Columba events because that's where you meet great people (Pic2). They told us to get involved at St. Columba because that's where you meet great people (Pic3). They told us to sign up for St. Columba trips because that's where you meet great people (Pic4). They told us to invite St. Columba people to our house because that's how you keep great people (Pic5). When they got to college, we told them to go to church because St. Columba taught them that church is where you meet great people!" - Christine Pompa, parishioner since 1975
"St. Columba is a feeling I get. I made more friends here, more than anywhere else on earth. There’s no place like St. Columba. It’s like home." - Marian Pompa
"We have been parishioners of St. Columba Church for close to 40 years and we love it here. Our priests and deacons are devoted, dedicated men who bring us Jesus in sacrament, word and by their example on a daily basis. There is a wide variety of ministries and programs with many ways to become involved in parish life. St. Columba Parish is a big welcoming family!" - Marty and Mary Theresa Soyka
"A unique Church that really promotes God into our lives. A welcoming place since first walking in through its doors. Overall great music, amazing Priests, a nice setting for prayer between the Church and the Chapel for Eucharistic Adoration, welcoming ushers and I have the pleasure to know some great parishioners."
"We have here at St. Columba the makings of reigniting a Catholic culture. Especially with children. It’s all here. It’s a great example. It is a positive thing to have welcoming ushers and greeters. Nice to be welcomed. It is comforting. They notice when you’re missing. You’re a person."
"We took our three grandkids to church for Mass and before Mass we gave the kids a tour of the church. Stations of the cross…altar. After Mass my granddaughter came to me and said 'Grandma…you have the most friendly church.' Out of the mouths of babes. They could feel that…the welcoming."
"The priests are the best part of St. Columba. They are both outstanding. The Church is very welcoming. All of my children attend the school there, and we've met so many families through both the Church and the school. My kids enjoy seeing so many of their friends at Mass on Sundays - we've made many family connections."
